I had never been to Florida before.  The heat and humidity in August were somewhat overwhelming but the visual beauty was, much like California when I arrived here, totally alien.  The proximity to the Gulf , the Atlantic and the amazing Thunderhead clouds appearing out of nowhere gave the place a very surreal atmosphere.  The sky changed minute by minute and always seemed to have a potential hurricane waiting in the wings....  These were done from my balcony on the 15th floor of the hotel.   I will definitely  go there again.
